Warnings and Precautions


Pediatric and Adult Balloon DCP

Warnings:

  1. Intended for Single Patient Use only. DO NOT REUSE.
  2. After use, this product may be a potential biohazard. Handle and discard in accordance with the accepted medical practice and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  3. Infection must be resolved with systemic antibiotics before surgery.
  4. Deflate the balloon fully before withdrawing from the nasolacrimal duct.
  5. The balloon must not be moved while inflated.
Cautions:
  1. Do not exceed the recommended balloon inflation pressure.
  2. Do not touch the balloon with instruments as it may puncture.
  3. It is highly recommended that before using the lacrimal duct catheter in surgery for the first time, each surgeon reference a procedure overview sheet which can be downloaded from www.lacricath.com.
Possible Patient Complications:
The potential exists for serious complications including the following:
  1. Excessive bleeding
  2. Canaliculi trauma

9 mm Transnasal Balloon DCR

Warnings:

  1. Do not exceed 8atm inflation pressure.
  2. Each Transnasal Lacrimal Balloon Catheter is a single use medical device and should not be reused or resterilized.
  3. Do not touch the balloon with instruments as it may be punctured.
  4. The balloon should not be moved when inflated.

Cautions:

  1. Federal (U.S.A.) laws restricts this device to sale, distribution and use by or on the order of a physician.
  2. Infection must be resolved with systemic antibiotics before surgery.

Adverse Reactions:
The Transnasal lacrimal duct catheter may give rise to the following complications:

  1. Bleeding
  2. Damage to the canalicli
